Jim Jogerst

Jim Jogerst joined BERG as Senior Vice President of Business Development in 2017, and was promoted to Chief Business Officer in April 2018. With more than 20 years of experience in business ownership, corporate/business development and licensing, and merger and acquisition activity, Mr. Jogerst brings a wealth of life sciences experience, extensive network, transactional skills, international business knowledge and perspective to the organization.

Mr. Jogerst is responsible for developing partnering strategies and optimizing and positioning new products for maximum value creation and delivering against unmet market needs. He will be focused on building and leading the business development and alliance-management activities for Berg and driving opportunity identification, transaction planning, analysis, negotiation, and execution for out-licensing, platform deals, co-development, joint ventures, co-promotions, distribution agreements, and acquisitions.

Most recently, Mr. Jogerst worked as Vice President and Head of Corporate Development and M&A for Adare Pharmaceuticals, a portfolio company of Texas Pacific Group. While at Adare, Jim helped to create a new corporate strategy that included an M&A growth plan. Under his watch, Mr. Jogerst’s team identified and assessed more than 140 potential opportunities and was successful in executing several transformative transactions.

Prior to his tenure at Adare, Mr. Jogerst was Vice President, Head of Business Development, Licensing and M&A at Alcon, a division of Novartis that produces advanced surgical, pharmaceutical and vision-care products. Prior to this, Mr. Jogerst co-founded a merchant bank and held leadership positions with several boutique investments banks. He started his advisory career at Arthur Andersen, advising clients on restructurings, sell- and buy-side engagements, and capital raising.

A Chartered Financial Analyst, Mr. Jogerst earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and an MBA from Pepperdine University. While earning his MBA, he studied at the European Business School in Germany. In his free time, Mr. Jogerst enjoys spending time with his family, mentoring professionals, reading and irregular trips to the gym.
